The studio was built in 2005 and is exactly 9 steps from my back door. It’s so important to me that it’s a place to share with friends, not just a hide-away place for me to paint in isolation, though at times, it is that too.

In the spring and summer, it’s surrounded by perennial gardens and in the winter it’s a cozy place to paint, meet with weekly classes and workshops or curl up on the couch with a good art book.

The best times for me in the studio are when 4 or 5 friends are here painting, laughing, drinking coffee and all of us studying to become better painters together.

Whether it’s the weekly Tuesday Morning Painters, a group of teenagers having a “Bad Art Night” party, an art and pizza party with the wood fired oven just outside the studio door, or children making mosaics on a Saturday morning, WONDERFUL MEMORIES…and WONDERFUL ART are made here in Quiet Woods Studio.
